Galerija Manifesto predstavlja izložbu jednog od pionira konceptualne umjetnosti BiH — Jusufa Hadžifejzovića i umjetnice Lamije Halilagić, pod nazivom "Prodavnica praznine i skladište nježnosti". Izložba će biti otvorena u petak, 21. novembra u 19:30 sati.

 

Postavka izložbe sučeljava dva pojma, prazninu i nježnost, predstavljajući dvije umjetničke prakse čija se srodnost ponajviše ogleda u formalnoj nesputanosti, te bliskosti prostora i vremena u kojem nastaju.

 

Umjetnička praksa Jusufa Hadžifejzovića, koja je u historiju savremene umjetnosti upisana kao jedna od formalno i konceptualno najznačajnijih na prostoru jugoistočne Evrope, između ostalog obilježena je istraživanjem pojma praznine u kontekstu konzumerizma. Vođen idejama taoizma, Hadžifejzović s jedne strane prazninu tretira kao nuspojavu postojanja – da bi nešto bilo prazno, isprva mora biti ispunjeno, dok je s druge strane istovremeno razumijeva kao potencijal – nešto postaje iz ništavila i praznine.

 

Pakovanja potrošenih proizvoda, kao ultimativne konzumerističke praznine, osnovno su Hadžifejzovićevo umjetničko sredstvo. Prazne kutije cigara označavanjem postaju umjetnička djela — vlasništva praznine; omoti kafe, lijekova i čajeva kolažirane praznine; a gipsani odlijevci flaša i posuda materijalizacije praznine. Umjetnik-potrošač biva transformiran u konceptualnog “depografa” konzumerističkih praznina. Konglomerat markiranih, obučenih, dekorativnih i drugih praznina, funkcionišući i kao umjetnikov autoportret, na koncu se iščitava kao Hadžifejzovićeva igra s monetarnim i umjetničkim vrijednostima.

 

Umjetnički izraz Lamije Halilagić utemeljen je u naslijeđu dadaizma, abstraktnog ekspresionizma i neoavangardnih istraživanja o odnosu slike i teksta. Halilagić također nerijetko poseže za umjetničkom strategijom pronalazak-transformacija. Tako nastaje niz umjetničkih knjiga pod nazivom Zelene knjige koje polazište imaju u pronađenim katalozima izložbi i publikacijama o umjetnosti.

 

Parcijalnim ili potpunim preslikavanjem tekstova, dopisivanjem, markiranjem i drugim tekstuelno-vizuelnim intervencijama, Halilagić knjige kao materijalizacije diskursa transformira u umjetničke objekte, koji pozivaju na individualnu participaciju publike. Intimnost koja se uspostavlja između posmatrača-čitatelja i knjige, korespondira s nenametljivom intimnosti umjetničinih intervencija.

 

Potreba da se u umjetnički rad “sakriju” najintimnija promišljanja i doživljaji o životu i svijetu vidljiva je i u recentnijem ciklusu slika pod nazivom Zbogom tužni svijete, te instalaciji Kuća nježnosti. Stupajući u gotovo dijalektički odnos, ciklus slika i instalacija komuniciraju po principu uzrok-odgovor — dok slikama dominira osjećaj urgentnosti, te motivi uništenja i ništavila, instalacija se doima fragilnom, ali i nježnom.  Suptilno tematizirajući pojam nježnosti, Halilagić materijalizira ključnu prazninu savremenog društva – onu emotivnu.

Izložba će biti otvorena do 7. decembra 2025. godine, a svi zainteresovani mogu je posjetiti u ustaljenom radnom vremenu od utorka do subote u periodu od 12:00 do 20:00 sati, te nedjeljom od 12:00 do 14:00 sati.

O autorima

Jusuf Hadžifejzović diplomirao je na Akademiji likovnih umjetnosti u Beogradu, a postdiplomski studij završio je na Državnoj akademiji umjetnosti u Düselldorfu u klasi Klausa Rinkea. Jedan je od osnivača Jugoslovenskih dokumenta, bijenala savremene umjetnosti koji je 80-tih godina sarajevsku umjetničku zajednicu doveo na vrh jugoslavenske i svjetske umjetničke scene. Jedan je od osnivača Kolekcije Ars Aevi. Učestvovao je u mnogim međunarodnim izložbama savremene umjetnosti od Berlina do Koreje. Bavi se analitičkim slikarstvom, te transformacijom svakodnevnih objekata u umjetničke. Razvio je posebnu umjetničku praksu s kojom tretira fenomen praznine. Već dugi niz vodi Galeriju Charlama Depot u Sarajevu.

 

Lamija Halilagić diplomirala je i magistrirala na Odsjeku slikarstvo Akademije likovnih umjetnosti u Sarajevu. Njena praksa, duboko zasnovana na principima slikarstva, proširila se u posljednjih nekoliko godina na kolaž, video, zvuk i instalaciju. Galerija Collegium Artisticum dodijelila joj je 2018. godine Grand Prix za najboljeg mladog umjetnika u Bosni i Hercegovini. Izlagala je na brojnim grupnim izložbama i samostalno, a njeni radovi objavljeni su u nekoliko europskih umjetničkih publikacija. 2024. godine, na osmom Pop Art Festivalu u Sarajevu, dobija prvu nagradu Udruženja Pogon nazvanu po Anuru Hadžiomerspahiću. Trenutno živi i radi u Beogradu.

About the Exhibition

Gallery Manifesto presents an exhibition by one of the pioneers of conceptual art in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jusuf Hadžifejzović, alongside the work of Lamija Halilagić, titled Shop of Emptiness and Depot of Tenderness. The exhibition will open on Friday, November 21, at 7:30 PM.

 

The exhibition juxtaposes two concepts, emptiness and tenderness, highlighting the affinity between two artistic practices whose connection is most evident in their formal freedom and in the close spatial and temporal contexts in which they emerge.

 

Jusuf Hadžifejzović’s artistic practice, recognized as one of the most formally and conceptually significant in the history of contemporary art in Southeastern Europe, is notably characterized by his exploration of the notion of emptiness within the context of consumerism. Guided by Taoist ideas, Hadžifejzović approaches emptiness in two complementary ways: as a byproduct of existence, something must first be filled to become empty, and as potential, where something arises from nothingness and void.

 

Packaging of consumed products, representing the ultimate consumerist emptiness, is Hadžifejzović's central artistic medium. Empty cigar boxes become artworks through designation, they become possessions of emptiness, while coffee, medicine, and tea wrappers form collages of emptiness, and plaster casts of bottles and containers serve as materializations of emptiness. The artist-consumer is transformed into a conceptual “depographer” of consumerist emptinesses. This conglomerate of marked, dressed, decorative, and other emptinesses, functioning also as the artist’s self-portrait, ultimately reads as Hadžifejzović’s exploration of monetary and artistic values.

 

Lamija Halilagić’s artistic expression draws from the legacies of Dadaism, Abstract Expressionism, and neo-avant-garde investigations into the relationship between image and text. She frequently employs an artistic strategy of discovery-transformation. This approach has produced a series of artists’ books titled Green Books, which are based on found exhibition catalogs and art publications.

 

Through partial or complete transcription, annotation, marking, and other textual-visual interventions, Halilagić transforms these books, as materializations of discourse, into art objects that invite individual audience participation. The intimacy that emerges between viewer-reader and book resonates with the subtle intimacy of her interventions. The need to embed her most personal reflections and experiences of life and the world in her work is also evident in her recent painting cycle Goodbye Sad World and the installation House of Tenderness.

 

Engaging in an almost dialectical relationship, the cycle of paintings and the installation interact in a cause-and-effect relationship, while the paintings convey a sense of urgency, destruction, and void, the installation appears fragile yet tender. By subtly exploring the notion of tenderness, Halilagić materializes the key emptiness of contemporary society, the emotional one.

 

The exhibition will remain open until December 7 and can be visited during regular gallery hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

About the Authors

Jusuf Hadžifejzović graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade and completed his postgraduate studies at the State Academy of Arts in Düsseldorf under Klaus Rinke. He is one of the founders of Yugoslav Documenta, a contemporary art biennial that brought the Sarajevo art community to the forefront of the Yugoslav and international art scenes in the 1980s. He is also a co-founder of the Ars Aevi Collection. He has participated in numerous international contemporary art exhibitions, from Berlin to Korea. Hadžifejzović works in analytical painting and transforms everyday objects into art. He has developed a unique artistic practice focused on the phenomenon of emptiness and has long managed the Charlama Depot Gallery in Sarajevo.

 

Lamija Halilagić earned both her BA and MA in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo. Her practice, deeply rooted in painting, has expanded in recent years to include collage, video, sound, and installation. In 2018, the Collegium Artisticum Gallery awarded her the Grand Prix for Best Young Artist in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She has exhibited widely in group and solo shows, and her work has been published in several European art publications. In 2024, at the eighth Pop Art Festival in Sarajevo, she received the first prize from the Pogon Association, named after Anur Hadžiomerspahić. She currently lives and works in Belgrade.
